Highlights and Achievements of our dance school.

During the last 2 years Gemini has had great success with students embarking on a vocational path and are now dancing at the following schools..
Amelia Johnson....THE HAMMOND
Amara Green.......ADDICT
Alice Cornes...BODY WORKS {now teaching at GEMINI after several cruise s with P and O.
Alfie Jones...danced at LIPPA and now the Ballet Cymru pre proffessional dancers course.
Ella Appleby...After dancing at Tivoli ballet..Brcon Festival Ballet and Ballet Cymru is now teaching at Gemini.
Many Gemini students have also gone on to study at the following schools:

July 2022
We are delighted to announce that Kai Fish has been accepted at Bird College for a vocational dance/musical theatre course and starts in September. Also Alice Cornes has now resumed a cruise ship contract! We are so proud of them both !
Our March show at the Congress Theatre was a great success after a long 3 years. I was delighted with the dancers and we look forward to booking a Christmas show at the end of 2023.

September 2021
We are delighted that our senior student Amara Green starts professional training at ADDICT dance school in Leicester this term.
Also Alfie Jones has been offered a place at SLP school in Leeds to further his dance training.
DANCE WORLD CUP
We are thrilled to announce that our senior student Amelia Johnson achieved one gold and one silver, and Noah Avis, our senior student achieved 2 bronze medals!
We are thrilled for them both!

February 2020
Our Wales and West Cecchetti awards at the Congress theatre were a great success despite the horrendous weather that weekend! Our award winners were: Junior award runner up ALEC PERKINS with AMELIA JOHNSON Senior Winner, REA BARTON musicality, and AMARA GREEN and MAIA ELSWORTHY both commendations. Well done to all who took part on the day!

September 2019
We are delighted to announce the following students have been accepted at vocational schools as from september 2019. Alfie Jones to Jelli Studios Liverpool, Max Burton to Tring School of performing Arts Hertfordshire and Ffion Vann to Brighton school of Performing arts. Also Amelia Johnson is now an Elmhurst weekly Associate. Ella Appleby former pupil danced with Tivoli Ballet Copenhagen in the Nutcracker Ballet after graduating at KS Dance and Elisha Burke has also just graduated from KS dance and is now dancing on her first P and O cruise contract in the Mediterranean.

April 2018
A charity show was held with all senior students. We had a full house at the Congress theatre and the show was a great success. A total of £2000 was raised which was divided as £1000 for Cancer research and £1000 for our 5 dance students training in various vocational schools as small burseries. Also, we are delighted to announce that 7 of our pupils are to represent Wales at the Dance World Cup in Spain at the end of June. The dances have been choreographed by Sammy Harding, a past pupil of Gemini and wonderful teacher! Sammy has trained and put the dancers through their paces and we wish them all the very best on their exciting venture !

November 2017
Ballet examinations were held and all pupils gained merits and distinctions with 80 % distinctions. Well done to all !

September 2017
Katie Whitcombe is to begin vocational training at London Studio Center.Molly Jones is to begin vocational training at Urdang Academy in London.We are very proud of them both and wish them great success for the future.
Ella Appleby has been awarded a scholarship for the 2018 Cecchetti professional dance course in America, after being chosen to represent the UK in the international Cecchetti competition in Italy this year!

May 2017
Eleanor Loder has successfully auditioned for a place at Tring Park school for performing Arts to begin a vocational course from September 2017. We are thrilled for Eleanor as she has worked so hard towards her dream !
Ella Appleby who is currently studying in her second year of vocational studies at KS Dance will be representing the UK in Italy at the Cecchetti International Ballet Awards 2017....we wish her good luck !

August 2016
Former pupil Alice Cornes has graduated from Bodyworks dance college with a diploma in professional dance and begins a very exciting chapter dancing on P and O cruise ships in September. We wish her well!

July 2016
Examinations were held over 2 days and levels taken ranged from pre-primary to intermediate. Fantastic results once again with many distinctions and merits. Well done to all!

Elisha Burke has been awarded a place to study at K.S. Dance and begins her professional training in September. We wish her well on this new and exciting venture!

Student Ella Appleby who is currently studying at K.S. Dance in Warrington was awarded 'Most promising classical dancer' at the annual awards at the college. Many congratulations to Ella.

March 2016
Examinations were a great success with all examination entrants achieving either a Merit or Distinction. Well done all!

February 2016
On the 28th, pupils from the school attended the Wales and West Cecchetti competition at the Congress Theatre in Cwmbran. Commended in the senior section were Rhian Lamrick and Elodie Chard and the senior winner was Leah Owen. It was a lovely day and all children danced beautifully!

December 2015
Gemini school produced a fantastic show to mark the 30th anniversary of the school. The programme was varied with ballet, jazz and contemporary dance, featuring items for the musicals and ballets. With singing items included, there was never a dull moment and it all made for a happy show week.

Well done to all who took part and to all the helpers who worked so hard back stage for the week!

September 2015
In September, Ella Appleby starts her vocational dance course at K.S. Dance in Warrington. We wish her well. Also Katie Whitcombe is starting a pre-vocation course at Rubicon in Cardiff for 2 years, and we wish her well.

July 2015
On Sunday 19th July at Ballet Rambert Theatre in London, our Senior pupil Eleanor Loder was invited to dance at the annual Cecchetti Society Teachers Day. Eleanor's mum and dad also attended and Eleanor danced beautifully. We were all very proud.

March 2015
A choreographic competition was held in St. Hilda's Church on March 27th to raise funds for the church and church hall. A total of £407 was raised. The winners were Kaitlyn Hall, Isabelle Morgan and Megan McCarthy, Katie Whitcombe, and Elinor and Rhian Lamrick. Well done to those!

Letter published in South Wales Argus:
On Sunday, January 25th 2015 the Wales and West Cecchetti Ballet awards were held at the Congress Theatre, Cwmbran. A total of 99 dancers entered from 8 different schools from as far away as Hereford, Cardiff and Swindon. There were 3 sections, Juniors, Middles and Seniors and the dancers performed a few exercises and a dance. The adjudicator was Elisabeth Swan, recently retired chairwoman of the Cecchetti Society, and her comments whilst delivering her adjudication were very encouraging. She praised all the entries saying that they danced beautifully and understood that for some it was their first time dancing in a competition. Five dancers from Jacqui Everson's Gemini School of Dance gained awards, Eleanor Loder winner of the Senior section, Rhian Lamrick winner of the Middle section, Jessica Praito commended in the Middle section, Amara Green Joy of Dance award in the Junior section, Rose-Charles Pritchard commended in the Junior section.
Jacqui Everson has run the Gemini School of Dance in Griffithstown for almost 30 years and will be celebrating the school's 30th anniversay in November when the school will be performing at the Congress Theatre, Cwmbran.





October 2014
Exams were taken in October and there were many merits and distinctions with 100% passes. Certificates were presented in December when parents were invited to come along and watch their child's class.

July 2014
A choreographic competition was held at the Congress Theatre in Cwmbran on 17th July to raise funds for the refurbishment of the auditorium. A total of £200.00 was raised and it was a most enjoyable evening.

April 2014
Our school production at the the Congress Theatre over 4 evenings in April 2014 was very successful with the ballet Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. The whole school took part from the tiny tots to the Seniors with many Jazz, lyrical and contemporary dances and excellent singers.

A show took place to raise money for St Hilda's church which was most successful and raised £1,130.00 for the church and the church hall.

August 17th 2013
Alice Cornes has been accepted at Bodyworks Dance School in Cambridge and Chloe Gallear has been accepted at Ballet West in Scotland . Both Chloe and Alice start their vocational courses in September and we wish them all the best.

Ella Appleby was invited to dance at the Royal Ballet School in Covent Garden as the winner for this year's Cecchetti Senior Competition. What an honour and wonderful experience!

Adam Cornes is now qualified as a primary school teacher and takes up his first post at Blaenavon Primary school in September.

Well done to all!

May ballet examinations were excellent with many distinctions and merits.

Wales and West Cecchetti Awards at the Congress Theatre. We are delighted to report the following winners at the Awards:
SENIORS: Winner - Ella Appleby. Musicality Award - Laura Honeybun. Commended - Cloe Lively. Special mentions - Elinor Lamrick and Katie Whitcombe.
MIDDLES: Musicality Award - Eleanor Loder.
JUNIORS: Joy of Dance - Kaitlyn Hall. Special Mention - Catrin Minto.
Well done to all!

Also, Ella Appleby, Cordelia Wickenden, Darcey Wickenden and Eleanor Loder all successfully auditioned for The English Youth Ballet's production of Giselle to be performed on stage at the New Theatre in Cardiff in July.
We are very proud of all our dancers who took part in both events!.

January 2013
Dance for all seasons was performed at the Congress theatre in Cwmbran featuring Pocahontas and many other items.

July 2012
several of our senior pupils left to begin their new lives in universities. Three senior ballet intermediate pupils moved on to train at vocational dance school 344 Dance Station in Fish ponds. They are Rosie Balfry, Laurie Parks and Charlotte Minty.
